My name is Kaley Dawn. I'm 17 years old and have been actively struggling with my weight since middle school. I have recently come to terms with the fact that I need to lose weight in order to live the long, healthy life I deserve.

I've never told anyone most of what I'm about to tell

I need to lose 100 lbs to be healthy
I weight 246 lbs
I'm 5'3"

Today marks the beginning of my journey to change this.

My goals:

Short Term: Get diet and exercise routine down. Get to size 16 pant
Mid Term: Get to size 12 by prom
Long term: 146 lbs.

So I have been keepng track of my calories and stuff. I've also been too lazy to post it up here. -_-;. Ah well, today starts another weeks with another set of possibilities. There are far too many i's in that word.

Since I'm finally off painkillers for my jaw (damn complications from samurai-ing my jawbone open. Thanks, Doc) I can go back to the gym this week. I'm really excited about that. because increased physically activity = more calories that I can consume.

Dyed my hair Friday night. I am very happy with it. My mother swears its black, when in reality its "Espresso Brown" Espresso of course being coffee...that..is..black. hahaha. See my other journal for pics of my hair through the ages! :)

Random though- I plan on going down to 1400 calories next week. I'm just doing 1800 til I get the countng thing down

My first day of eating well :) I'm proud. 1588 calories, I'm gonna eat some fruit and a few spoonfuls of my mom's homemade chocolate pudding (gah, good timing mom)before bed to get to 1800.

Not much in the way of exercise, unless you count my walking around campus for the open house. Which, actually..could count for something.

Anyone trying to count calories,I would heartily suggest my-calorie-counter.com . It makes counting calories...dare I say it...fun. And the great thing about it is that if you have a few minutes you can do your day's menu ahead of time and have a guideline without having to work very hard.

I made homemade hummus today, learned the hard way how much my blender suxorz. I'll post a recipe once I work out a few kinks.  A biiiiiiiiit too much garlic this time around, and I am a garlic fiend, so that's alot of garlic.

Lunch with [info]lady_alatar and mi madre on campus today, I totally avoided the dessert bar (Yay) and watched Mom point out cute boys. Are parents programmed to be embarrassing? It was all in good fun though.
